ABOUT THE WORK
Made in Los Angeles in 2024, these photographs find themselves in conversation through Pacific & Pavement, an exhibition exploring the city's cultural identity through its landscapes and people.
I'm drawn to the intersection of performance and everyday life, where familiar surroundings become theatrical and fleeting gestures suggest stories beyond the frame.
For me, Los Angeles is a place where the ordinary and extraordinary coexist. Born from a spontaneous collaboration and a shared curiosity, these photographs capture something of that relationship, shaped by the unexpected possibilities of two creative instincts meeting.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Tamara Lee Carroll is a photographer and playwright whose work traces the fault line between performance and truth.
Known for cinematic portraiture and character studies that read like stills from an unseen film, she explores the quiet negotiations that shape identity.
Her process is direct and collaborative, creating conditions where a person is met as a person, not treated as a subject.
Follow along for new photographs, ongoing projects, and the stories that emerge along the way.
